3 Easy Ways to Improve the Appearance of Your Commercial Building

A full building repaint is not always in the budget every year, or even needed. While a full repaint is the most surefire way to keep your building looking its best, there are a few things you can do between repaints that are budget friendly and go a long way.

Here are 3 ways you can improve your curb appeal in between repaints:

1. Paint Any Bollards in Your Parking Lot or Around Your Building

Because bollards are usually exposed to the weather, they tend to show wear and tear faster than other structures and equipment. A peeling or chipped paint job isn’t what you want customers to see when they park outside your business, so consider painting the bollards.

Go for a bright solid color like yellow, orange, or red to make sure the bollards are visible, or choose a dark base color and add stripes in a highly visible or reflective color. You can also coordinate the bollards to the exterior color of your commercial building or brand. Just remember: visibility is key for safety.

2. Add Splashes of Color to Accent Areas

You don’t have to do a full commercial repaint of your business to make it look new. If you’re not ready for a full repaint, consider painting accents in clean, high-contrast colors. For example:

  • Add an accent lines to your commercial building. Use a color that complements your brand and imparts the right style to consumers.
  • Paint any staircases. That includes handrails, steps, the vertical backing between steps, and the stairs themselves.
  • Paint main doorframes an attractive color that draws the eye.

3. Add Fresh Stripes to Your Parking Lot

Before any new customers or potential tenants enter your business or commercial building, they first have to park and cross your parking lot. If the lines are old, crumbling, and faded, it isn’t exactly giving a good first impression of your business. Fortunately, fixing that is relatively easy.

Even if you can’t afford to get the asphalt back in like-new shape, you can certainly refresh those old paint lines. A fresh, solid line will clear up those parking spaces in no time.
